Blu-Ray region coding and PS3 questions?
Ok, I realize that there are three regions for Blu-ray. I also know that in the United States we are one region (or 1). I recently ordered a Blu-Ray, and has received in the mail. I put it and started looking. Some time later, I wanted to know one of the Player names and looked over the box. After careful inspection, I realized that the disc was region 2. But as far as I know, the PS3 supposed to be limited, at least in the movies. I played the region A / 1 disks here already, and since then, but the Region 2 disc is still playing …. I have not done major changes to my system is the same as when I bought it at the store, with the exception of a few log files of the game In the end, does anyone know why can it be?
Blu-ray movies are not as strict in the coding region of the DVD are. I saw lots and lots of Blu-Ray discs with an area code particularly in the work of other regions readers anyway. In addition, most U.S. Blu-Ray non-coding region (none of my Blu-Ray has all labeled region codes.) So basically, the Blu-Ray does not use much of the coding region (PS3 games are Region Free, of course). The fact that HD and HD format is universally accepted, there is a lot of sense to have a narrow region encoding format for the Blu-Ray. Your DVD is very strict in coding region (including the PS2 games).
