Multi DVD recorder?
My DVD recorder multi Recode says about this, I wonder if it will burn dual / dual layer discs (DVD)
It's my best guess without knowing the model number and the name would be thrown into a DVD-DL and test it.

#1′s $9.99 Since her 1990 Debut, Mariah Carey has sold more than 115 million records worldwide and has earned an astounding 81 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records. Her career has been an extraordinary succession of number ones and record-breaking firsts in the music world. With more number one albums (four) than any female artist in the 1990s, Carey was the first female artist to see two of her albums (Music Box and DayDream) reach the ten million mark in sales, and she is the only female artist to have eight albums certified triple platinum or better. Mariah’s entire album catalog has achieved RIAA multi-platinum status. She has had more number one singles than any artist during the 1990s and has seen more singles debut at number one than anyone else. Mariah Carey’s second DVD #1′s delivers just what the title promises: videos for 14 of her chart-toppers, including “Heartbreaker,” “Fantasy,” “Dreamlover,” “Always Be My Baby,” “Love Takes Time,” “Honey,” and “Emotions.” The disc also includes MTV Unplugged performances of “I’ll Be There” and “Someday” and live versions of “Hero” and “Vision of Love.” As a bonus, the DVD also includes the video for the remix of “Heartbreaker,” which features Da Brat and Missy Elliott. Interviews and interactive menus make #1′s a better-than-average DVD video collection and one that will doubtlessly please Carey’s legions of fans. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi |

’80s Metal Sound & Vision $15.98 This two-disc collection from the Cleopatra label may tout a “multi-media extravaganza featuring the sights and sounds of the ’80s metal giants,” but ’80s Metal Sound & Vision is hardly the real deal. The collection does feature some of the genre’s biggest names, like Quiet Riot, Great White, and M? tley Cr? e’s Vince Neil, but each and every track is a cover. The Metal Sound & Vision box set also includes a bonus DVD. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi |

01011001 [CD/DVD] $29.98 With Ayreon, Dutch multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen has built a career around massive prog metal opuses with hordes of guest vocalists. Basically, anybody in metal who can hold a tune has sung for Ayreon at some point. 01011001 features Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-the Gathering), Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Floor Jansen (After Forever), Tom Englund (Evergrey), Hansi K? rsch (Blind Guardian), Simone Simons (Epica), Ty Tabor (King’s X), and Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation), among many others. These singers are the focal points of their bands, but in Ayreon, they’re merely characters in Lucassen’s rock operas. 01011001 is a sprawling two-disc set that one critic called “the longest CD ever made.” Indeed, the album spans 100 minutes, and feels like 100 years. It’s a perfect fit for the Inside/Out label — pristine production, byzantine songs that feel like full albums, hi-tech synths that wish they were guitars. Lucassen really, really likes his synths; in “Waking Dreams,” he entirely forgoes bass in favor of a percolating ostinato that suggests a beefier Kraftwerk. Electronics also pervade the percussion; “Beneath the Waves” is as if Alan Parsons covered the Beastie Boys’ “So What’cha Want.” Ray gun synths, operatic vocals, fake and real strings, and even Celtic melodies adorn this sonic mansion. Its ambition would be laughable if the record didn’t actually fulfill it often. Admittedly, such fulfillment was purchased at Guitar Center (or its Dutch equivalent); the record is most touching when it strips down to acoustic guitar on the gorgeously compact “Web of Lies.” These two discs, subtitled Planet Y and Earth, are about humanity’s disconnect with itself and destruction of the planet. But that’s really not important. Music this over the top almost defies criticism. Reviewing it is like reviewing the world’s tallest building. It doesn’t care; it just goes on and on. [This edition of 01011001 includes a bonus DVD.] ~ Cosmo Lee, Rovi |

3 Bats Live [DVD] $19.99 Meat Loaf is seen on his concert tour promoting Bat out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose in this video, which chronicles a stop on the tour in an arena in London, Ontario. The basis of the 18-song, two-hour-and-24-minute performance is the three Bat out of Hell albums, the second of which is called Bat out of Hell II: Back Into Hell. The 59-year-old singer seems least animated when running through material from the three-decades-old original Bat out of Hell, notably the opening number (following a snippet of “All Revved Up with No Place to Go”), “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” the multi-part account of teenage seduction (accompanied by baseball commentary) followed by middle-aged regret, for which he appears on-stage in his late-’70s garb, including a ruffled tuxedo shirt and long-haired wig. Maybe it’s just as well to get that old warhorse out of the way early, although, since it requires a degree of acting from him and duet partner Aspen Miller (decked out in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit) that neither seem prepared for yet, maybe it should have been held until later in the evening. Meat Loaf warms up somewhat as the show goes on, but he doesn’t speak until he launches into a story to introduce “Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are,” which he describes as his second favorite song that he’s recorded. (His first favorite goes unrevealed.) The story is abruptly cut off, however, after an audience member claims to have heard it before, apparently from the opening act. Thereafter, this is a typical arena rock show, with multi-colored Vari-lites scraping the stage, pyrotechnics going off in the back, and musicians striking poses as they alternate between melodic heavy metal rockers and power ballads, all led by Meat Loaf and his passionate tenor. The Jim Steinman songs that were written for that voice come off best, of course, with the Steinman-lite additions from Bat out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose written by such hac… |

9012Live $19.99 The 1984 lineup of Yes — Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Trevor Rabin, Alan White, and Tony Kaye — left behind this filmed account of their tour, which was made by no less a figure than Steven Soderbergh, about four years before he released Sex, Lies and Videotape. It found a following among Yes fans of the period, cleverly intermixing excellent live footage of the band with conceptual material and graphics, which seemed state of the art at the time and today seems a quaint relic of its era. MTV was what was happening then, and Yes, with “Owner of a Lonely Heart” as a chart-topping hit in this incarnation, was suddenly competing in that medium. Of course, what then happened was that following the hit and the tour documented here, it was three years before another Yes album showed up, by which time their lineup and sound had shifted again — 9012Live became the only full-length concert document by the “comeback” version of the band. And then, across the 1990s and beyond, as Yes endured and evolved further, the particular version of the group represented here came to be considered more of an aberration than anything else, a flukey incarnation, despite the fact that, at the time, its success probably saved the band. And to make matters even more complicated, the master materials for this movie — in particular the underlying sound elements — were lost. As a result, for quite a few years, 9012Live was only traded as a bootleg DVD on the underground market. Fortunately, at some point usable video materials were found — though the multi-track audio source is, indeed, still missing — and the concert video was remastered for this official 9012Live DVD release. Additionally, director Steven Soderbergh , who had since gone on to be one of the most honored and influential filmmakers of his generation, proved willing and able to come back into the project. He prepared a revisionist “Director’s Cut” of the concert feature in which all of the conceptual footage was remo… |
