What is the difference between a DVD player with a Blue Ray and medium blue ray disk?
I am looking for computers and watch a DVD-RW / CD-RW with support blue ray. Can you play any blue ray movie on a DVD player with support blue ray? What features are not present a DVD player with a blue ray support could be found with a blue ray player?
A reader isa box to connect to a TV to play CDs in it. Computers use readers. (A player is a player, food, housing and some other components.) Computer claiming to have a disk (or other – CD DVD or BR) player is just an announcement written by a computer illiterate. Computers have readers, not actors. Features issue is moot, because all differences can not use a computer unit. (The differences are that the player video output and TV output probably [3/channel4 channel in North America].)

’89 Live in Japan $9.99 Sometime in 1992/1993 a revamped Quiet Riot featuring vocalist Kevin DuBrow with Bob Rondinelli on drums (around this time Rondinelli had also filled in on an Aerosmith gig one night when Joey Kramer wasn’t available — call him Mr. Fill-In) performed at a little-known club in Billerica, Massachusetts called Mr. Tipps. It is one of those suburban gigs we call “the last rung on the rock & roll ladder” and it’s a pity because Quiet Riot had more than just a clever name, and more than the cachet of being the professional birthplace of guitar wizard Randy Rhodes. To those who don’t know the story, DuBrow faced a mutiny by the band he founded and Pasha Records released an album in 1988 with two different members, titling the disc, interestingly enough, after the first Japanese release by the original group. This DVD, ’89 Live in Japan, comes from that strange lineup in between and features vocalist Paul Shortino of the group Rough Cutt as well as bassist Sean McNabb and an uncredited Jimmy Waldo — keyboard player from the groups New England and Alcatraz. Why Waldo is treated like a hired hand is one of those unique situations which seemed to develop after Flo & Eddie called Mountain’s organ player Steve Knight “the most useless man in rock & roll.” The statement was far from accurate, of course, but it was humorous and Mott the Hoople and Aerosmith would both push keyboardists to the side and pretty much off-stage after that infamous quip. Though the 1988 self-titled Quiet Riot album faced horrible reviews and little or no commercial acceptance, this DVD is actually quite enjoyable. As a live band, Q.R. had that long-hair-’80s-thing down pat. What replaces original vocalist DuBrow’s personality is a very slick and well-executed heavy metal show. “Stay With Me Tonight” might not be a rock & roll classic, but it comes off well live and along with the nine in-concert tracks there is a bonus of the video shot for “Stay With Me.” This is no mere clone band going t… |

A Christmas Experiment [DVD] $15.99 The Canadian Brass DVD of A Christmas Experiment was released in 2000. A CD of the same name was released in 1997. The DVD opens with an explanation that what you are about to see is a concert/pageant organized by a “gang” of kids who are friends and relatives of the Canadian Brass. The “experiment” is in letting the kids organize the event (including scripting the tuba player as a “Jack in the Box”!) and it works very well. This is a DVD that young children will enjoy tremendously. There is a sweet quality to the interaction between parent musicians and their kids who describe Chirstmas icons and events in engaging ways. However, A Christmas Experiment is not a full-fledged concert. There are some great songs heard throughout the DVD, including “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer,” “Jolly Old St. Nick,” “Angles We Have Heard on High,” and “Little Dummer Boy,” among others. A Christmas Experiment is fun, charming, and aimed at the very young. This DVD is paced at only 52 minutes, but that might be all a short attention span will give it. Be prepared for kids to want to watch this multiple times. (For just pure music, and more adult fare, track down the audio CD of the same name.
